QNAP TS-439 Series Turbo NAS unboxing
The upper right two eSATA connectors, a lovely feature if you plan to only use the NAS with a single system. We also see a VGA connector. Though not intended for the end-user, QNAP uses that connector for system checks and final checks before the products leave the factory. I hooked up a monitor and it was showing a console dialog (SSH / shell style).
Don't get scared by the big fans, these are LOW RPM and you will virtually not hear the device at all.
Hot swappable driver bays. Some of you might know them from the server industry, IMHO it's god's gift to HDD storage really. Very easy stuff to insert or replace a HDD. Let me show you that.
Once removed we see the drive bay, as you can see here they are numbered (upper right corner). HDD installation is easy.
Simply place the 3.5" SATA HDD on it's back, place the drive bay on top of it, and secure the HDD with four bottom screws.
